Synopsis

Peter Cook's performance as an arrogant, spiteful Satan in this Faustian comedy set in Swinging London is the greatest of his film career. Cook also wrote the screenplay and his dark satire is most evident in his final speech, chillingly accurate in retrospect.

Directed by Stanley Donen, perhaps better known for more mainstream films like The Pajama Game, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and On the Town this is a gem of British cinema an one of the funniest comedies of all time.

Also starring Dudley Moore and Eleanor Bron and a stunning performance from Raquel Welch as Lust!
